THE PROJECT

Inspired by the abstract, geometric principles, and use of primary colors in Piet Mondrian's artwork, Urban Typography started as commissioned artwork for clients, who were looking for something bright and bold for their new home. They wanted something to bring in pops of colour into their living space, to offset their gray couch and light gray flooring. As jetsetters, they loved the idea of incorporating some of their favorite cities in the artwork. And thus, Urban Typography was born.

The pieces have since evolved into a series of different cities worldwide, incorporating bright colours, geometric lines, shapes and letters to makeup each city's skyline. Cities in the series include New York, San Francisco, Calgary, London, Las Vegas, Barcelona, and Tokyo.
